WORKCAFE TSH SAN SEBASTIÁN
Contrast as Spatial Identity
The interior design of the Restaurante & Work Café is articulated around a fundamental premise: material contrast as a language of identity. The space proposes a constant dialogue between the rawness of structural elements and the sophistication of detail, reflecting a city that embraces its tradition while projecting itself toward the avant-garde.
Sincere, industrial materials—such as concrete blocks and wood panels with exposed structures—coexist with rounded lines, polished surfaces, and textiles that provide warmth and comfort. At the core of the bar-café, spatial perception is altered by a sculptural glass block structure that multiplies exponentially through a game of mirrors, acting as the project’s luminous focal point.
The color palette anchors the design in the local landscape: a base of earth tones, ochres, and toasted yellows brings depth and an enveloping sense of temporary shelter, subtly interrupted by blue accents that reference the San Sebastián sea and sky. The result is a flexible and vibrant atmosphere, a contemporary reinterpretation of the Basque essence where the design transforms with those who inhabit the space.
